Sometimes cuts or wounds are large enough that they must be sew up with stitches (sutures) to prevent continued bleeding, risks of infection, or for cosmetic reasons.
Suturing up a wound is a skill taught to all physicians. However, certain cuts, or lacerations, like ones on the face or around the lips or eyes have a high risk of leaving a scar and may be referred out to a plastic surgeon for cosmetic reasons.
There is a medically safe Super Glue used to close wounds and well as a stapler gun, for larger wounds, that are both available here at Surfside. An interesting trivia fact is Super Glue was invented for medical use.
We are very happy to help and remove your stitches when appropriate here at Surfside regardless of where you got them.
